KALPANA IS THE NEW SINGING STAR OF THE YEAR 2008 IN HINDI SINGING
She has sung more than 2000 songs in twenty-two Indian languages. She has given her voice to glamour queens like Raveena Tandon, Mallika Sheravat, and Rakhi Sawant. She is among the upcoming singing sensations of the Hindi film industry like Javed Ali, Parthiv Gohil, Naresh Handa, Raja Hasan, Shail Hada, and Naresh Aiyyar.
Kalpana is already a very popular and well-known stage show artiste but she will be ushering in the New Year with a mega show to be staged in Delhi on 31st December, 2007 with music director ANAND RAJ ANAND & HARRY ANAND. Kalpana will abe performing again on the 2ndJanuary, 2008, for the prestigious 1st INTERNATIONAL PATNA EXPO 2007-08, organized by Leo Advertising, in Patna.
This is not all. Hot-shot music director Anand Raaj Anand recorded a Hindi song in Kalpana’s voice in Shakira style for the film FRIENDS FOR EVER starring Akshay Kumar. She is also singing for Network18’s film-FUN&FRUIT, which has music by Sangeet & Siddhartha (Band of Boys fame). The film has Cyrus Broacha, Dia Mirza, and Konkona Sen among its cast.
2008 will be a busy year for Kalpana as she will be singing for Sunny Deol’s film-CHAMPOO with music director Monty Sharma of Saawariya fame. The film is based on the Naxalite issue.
She has also sung a song for ANTARDWAND starring Vinay Pathak of Bheja Fry fame and Konkona Sen. The film has music by Bapi-Tutul and will be released by Yashraj Music.
Producer-director Shashi Ranjan who has recently announced DHOOM DADAKKA, a comedy laugh-riot, was amazed when KALPANA sang a number along with Udit Narayan and Roop Kumar Rathod, the big names in the world of playback singing. They were spellbound by her singing prowess and it will certainly be a milestone in her career.
Music director Shamir Tandon whose last releases were TRAFFIC SIGNAL, CORPORATE, PAGE 3 had heard her sing and was taken in by her talented that he immediately recorded a number in her voice for his forthcoming film KUTCH KHEL KUTCH MASTI.
One of her most awaited numbers features in the film DO AUR DO PAANCH, starring Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Kalpana has sung a duet with Shryea Ghosal which has a sizzling score by Jeet Ganguly, with lyrics penned by Nitin Raikar (“Aatee kya Khandala fame”). The song is a combination/mix of Jazz, Blues, Pop, and Rock elements with a touch of Indian melody.
She has also sung a song for Kumar Shanu’s-YEH SUNDAY KYON AATA HAI. This film will be releasing this January.
She has also stormed the small screen with her sensational voice. She has sung title track of Saroj Khan’s TV Dance show AAJA NACHLE which will be aired on NDTV’s general entertainment channel IMAGINE. Kalpana has also done the title tract of SAB TV’S GUP SHUP COFEE SHOP.
She is working on her latest International Solo Hindi Album to be released by BIG MUSIC which will have music by Shanky-Rinks and lyrics by Sandip Nath who is a known name in the film industry as he has written lyrics in films like SAAWARIYA, PAGE 3, and CORPORATE.
